Hi, I’m 808s & U3O8. Do you have a moment to talk about the nuclear fuel cycle?
I’m a nuclear professional living in the United States with education in engineering and geology. My past and current work focuses primarily on the nuclear power and the nuclear fuel cycle – from the mining of uranium all the way to disposing of spent nuclear fuel. I am extraordinarily optimistic for the global future of nuclear power; it’s our best hope to stop major climate change and the most critical technology to fully electrify the world over the next several decades.
The fuel cycle is opaque by design – it’s how participants make their money. You wont find any secret or proprietary information here. The aim of this (infrequent) blog is to synthesize a few nuclear fuel cycle topics in a way that is accessible to those newly interested in the field and informative for those that have been following it for years. There are definitely more informative, precise, and academic resources out there than what I am trying to present. If you need a deeper dive, let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction.
To be blunt, I don’t care very much about uranium equities. Any mention of a project, producer, trader, developer, or explorer is informational, and I strive to use fiction as narrative example where I can. I recognize that a large portion of the potential audience of this blog is invested in uranium equities…but those seeking hot tips for the next ten-bagger will walk away disappointed.
This blog is free, and will remain free and un-monetized. There are plenty of excellent consultants out there for hire, and they have mortgages to pay and kids to feed.
As always, feedback is welcome. You can reach me via email at 808sandU3O8 AT gmail DOT com, or via DM at 808sandU3O8 on Twitter.
